Father of Music Games Brings New Take on the Genre to iPhone and iPod touch

San Francisco, Calif. – June 4, 2010 – OneBigGame, the non-profit publisher of videogames, today officially announced its second project, WINtA, an innovative music rhythm game that will be released for iPhone and iPod touch this summer. WINtA is the brainchild of renowned Japanese game designer Masaya Matsuura, the man often regarded as the inventor of the music game genre through his seminal PaRappa the Rapper series for PlayStation.

“We couldn’t be happier with WINtA as the second game to come out under our fundraising label,” said Martin de Ronde, director, OneBigGame. “We feel Matsuura-san has come up with a great concept for OneBigGame, and we are convinced that fans of his earlier works as well as fans of music games in general will be pleasantly surprised when they all get a chance to experience WINtA later this year.”

The spirit of the OneBigGame initiative, which is all about game designers working together to raise funds for charity, comes to life in WINtA, which is being developed pro bono by Matsuura-san’s studio NanaOn-Sha and Dutch iPhone and iPad specialists Triangle Studios.

“I am a big believer in creative collaborations and I am really pleased with the result that is WINtA,” stated Masaya Matsuura, president, NanaOn-Sha. “Furthermore, further down the line WINtA will also very much involve music artists, VJs and gamers around the world in this project. I can’t wait to see the creative vision that we have for WINtA finally become a reality later this year.”

Team6 game studios announces cooperation with Triangle Studios for DS version of “Calvin Tucker^‘s Redneck: Farm Animal Racing Tournament”.

Netherlands based developer Team6, and Netherlands based developer Triangle decide to join forces for work on Calvin Tucker’s Redneck: Farm Animal Racing Tournament for the Nintendo DS version.

Ronnie Nelis, CEO Team6 game studios: “While working on the Wii version of Farm Animals, we were asked by our client Zoo Games for a DS version of Farm Animals besides the Wii version. After comparing various DS specialized studios all over the world who could assist us with this new platform for us, we ended up at Triangle Studios: which happens just to be around our corner, so to speak. We’re very pleased to work with Triangle now, and so far they deliver amazing results.”

Triangle Studios is announcing the release of it’s first iPad App, Magnetic Draw, on April 3^rd 2010.

Magnetic Draw is a blast from the past for all those familiar with the magnetic drawing boards from your youth! Like the originals, Magnetic Draw features a pen with different strokes, and various stamps to complete your drawing. One large eraser-bar, which slides across the screen, enables you to remove your drawing and start with a clean sheet! You’re also able to share your creations with others, and use the ingenious zoom-function, in case you want to add details to your drawings.

Dutch game developer Triangle Studios opens office in Dallas, Texas.

Triangle Studios, has opened a new office in the United States. The new location is intended to facilitate the growth of international ambitions of the company.

Margriet Spriensma, Triangle Studios’ Unit Manager will lead the project in Dallas: “I think this undertaking is huge challenge for me personally, and a great opportunity for Triangle Studios. The US market is large enough for our company to grow, and for us to open an office in Dallas enables us to get closer to our US customers”.

Triangle Studios was established in 2006, the company develops applications and games for Nintendo DS, Wii, iPhone and Playstation 3. In the past two years, Triangle Studios has gotten a Dutch Game Award for the title Stratego: Next Edtion (DS) and an award for best startup company of 2009.

Haven’t had the chance to try out the frantic pipe puzzler Heron: Steam Machine? Well now is your chance as this cool iPhone App will be completely FREE only this weekend, on January 23rd and 24th. Heron: Steam Machine is normally available for $0.99 in the Appstore.

Heron: Steam Machine is a game about a factory where rubber duckies are being produced by a large steam engine. On this steam engine, there are four different gauges which you will have to watch carefully. These gauges represent steam, electricity, water and oil. When the gauges start to rise, you will have to connect a pipe with the color corresponding with the gauge. By connecting the pipes, you will earn points and relieve some of the pressure. Prevent the steam engine from blowing up and save as many rubber duckies as you can!
